jlcans.org started as a test site: a place to learn how to put a website online from scratch. Along the way it became a record of every step, every setting and every confusing error message, written up so the next person has an easier time.

How this site is built
jlcans.org is a hand-written static website made of HTML and CSS files. It is stored in an Amazon S3 bucket and delivered through Cloudflare, which also provides HTTPS. There is no database, no login and no tracking.
